Eight basic losses

To begin with, let’s define what are losses in a process. Simply put, waste is any activity that does not add value to your process. Your customer is not ready to pay for such activities or at least is not happy if he has to pay for them. It is a common mistake when we think of “loss” exclusively as waste or downtime. The eight basic losses include losses due to unnecessary transportation, unnecessary inventory, unnecessary movement, all types of waiting, overproduction, overprocessing, and scrap. An eighth loss has recently been included among the basic losses, which is the untapped talent in your company. Methods based on lean management are solutions for numerous challenges in a process. With this method of operation, business costs are reduced, product value is improved and, ultimately, customer satisfaction is increased. With our webinars or live, we will be happy to provide you with detailed knowledge and explain the best practices in these processes.
